Palliative care is specialized medical care for people living with a serious illness, such as cancer or heart failure. Palliative care is meant to enhance a person’s current care by focusing on quality of life for them and their family.

Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD):

Medical assistance in dying occurs when an authorized doctor or nurse practitioner provides or administers medication that intentionally brings about a patient’s death, at that patient’s request. This procedure is only available to eligible individuals.
