Southbridge Medical Clinic has and will always be physician-owned. Any business decisions are always made with consideration to the physicians’ needs. Our overhead structure allows for flexible practice options including a mix of hospital, clinic, and locum work. In Brandon, family practice physicians have the opportunity to obtain admitting privileges at the BRHC (Brandon Regional Health Centre). Southbridge Medical Clinic has a family medicine call group operating at BRHC that is optional to join.

Teaching Clinic:

Education is a lifelong pursuit and physician wanting to stay sharp in their skills will surly benefit from the opportunity to be involved in education of the next generation of physicians. A teaching appointment through the University of Manitoba (U of M) is supported and encouraged. Physicians at Southbridge Medical Clinic have strong ties to the U of M Medicine Program including connections with the Brandon Residency Programs for Family Medicine, Enhanced Skills Residency, and Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Billing:

Most physicians have had no formal billing training. New graduates are often left to figure out how to bill on their own. It can be a daunting task. Southbridge Medical Clinic does all it’s billing in house and is more than willing to educate physicians in their area of billing. The billing staff work hard to make sure you are being paid for all the hard work you do.

Investment into Technology:

EMR’s have come a long way in recent years and Southbridge Medical Clinic takes advantage of those advancements in technology. There are many customizable features in EMR’s that will reduce administrative work while improving patient care. It is Southbridge Clinic’s goal to work at the forefront of what this technology can do. The clinic has also invests into quality equipment. For example, Southbridge Medical Clinic has recently purchased a pocket ultrasound for family medicine and obs/gyn and colposcope for obs/gyn.

Living and Working in Brandon:

A city of approximately 50,000 residents, Brandon is the second largest city in Manitoba. Also home to the Brandon Regional Health Centre (BRHC), the city is the hub of Prairie Mountain Health and there are opportunities for clinic and hospital mixed practices as well as locum opportunities in the surrounding area. Brandon is a great place to raise a family as well. Coming from an agricultural heritage, the city has retained its friendly small town feel. Brandon has a comparatively low cost of living with average cost of a single-family home ranging between $200,000 and $270,000.
